WCIU

History

Westminster Christian Institute Uganda was established in the fall of 1996 by Pastor Emma Kiwanuka after completing his Master’s degree at Westminster Seminary in California. His vision was to train pastors and leaders for the Presbyterian Church in Uganda and other denominations, emphasizing strong Reformed and evangelical theology adapted to the African context. Initial classes were held at the Worship Center of First Presbyterian Church in Kampala, with all students being Ugandan and part-time, and Pastor Emma serving as the sole instructor.

Over the years, WCIU has grown into a respected institution with partnerships across denominations and nations, faithfully training men and women for gospel transformation.

WCIU worked with RAFIKI from 2021 – 2023 as an extension campus.
